The accumulated 106 works during 2010-2023 in WorldSkills Competition which is an outstanding preformation. Such an excellent result is the number one on the top of all the science and technology universities.

The department in 2016 was the number one on the top of the world in German IF design concept award; 2013 the top third, 2018 IF design award is the global gold medal. Also, the winner of 10 items of IF design award and four IF design concept award among global top hundred, the award ratio is also the number one in the world.

Yu-Zhen at Department of Visual Communication Design, Shu-Te University in 2007 is the gold medal holder in 44th Graphic Design, WorldSkills Competition. The meaning stands for of acquiring the Gold medal of Graphic Design, WorldSkills Competition again when the last time winning the gold medal is 24 years ago—winning the Gold medal of Graphic Design, WorldSkills Competition again, which present the glory of Taiwan to the international platform.

The very first four-year program of the Department of Visual Communication Design in the South of Taiwan.

 

The Department of Visual Communication Design at Shu-Te University was founded in 1998 and is the first visual design department in south Taiwan. Our education philosophy is “Academics, Knowledgeable, Happy and Hope.” We cultivate professional people with both humanity and technology, good organization & leading, also ability to issue-resolving.

To ensure the balanced development to the implementation of design philosophy and practice. Cultivate high-layer talented people as the goal with creativities of visual communication and execution based on the planning.

To correspond the industry, the department develops the core competencies of the base curriculum, based on the development of professionals and trends of future employment. During their time in university, there are four major areas that students can choose and focus on in the direction they would like to work in the design industry.
